Just when you thought the Ivan Johnson story couldn’t get any more awesome…

…you realize he was wearing gold fronts last night.  That’s correct, folks… Ivan Johnson said f@ck a mouthguard and rocked a full row of golds to protect his upper teeth during the actual game last night.  Based on the picture above, which is courtesy of The Basketball Jones, it looks like he’s actually got a rotation of at least two grills.  Notice that the one on the right is completely flooded with diamonds while the one on the left only appears to have a single row of stones at the bottom.  I like how both of ‘em have an old-school flair with the yellow gold.  I was never as big a fan of the platinum/white gold look that became increasingly popular over the course of the past decade. 

I actually suggested that someone should do this when LeBron sported a custom mouth piece in 2010, but I didn’t think it would ever happen.  Little did I know this former D-League All-Star by the name of Ivan Johnson would come along and set a new precedent for being swagged-out on the basketball court.

I swear, if David Stern even thinks about coming up with some rule that forces Ivan to remove his grill during games I’m boycotting the NBA.  Well, not really, but I’m gonna be pretty pissed.  That would be the worst crime against swag since the establishment of the dress code.
