Blake Griffin Diagnosed With Torn Meniscus… After Collision With DeMarcus Cousins

It’s no secret that Blake Griffin and DeMarcus Cousins don’t like each other.  You probably recall their battle of wits from earlier this season, when Cousins called Griffin “an actor,” drawing a sarcastic response and a severe on-court beatdown.

Now it appears that the animosity between these two young big men could be elevated to an even higher level.  Take a look at the video above, which shows a pair of collisions involving Griffin.  The second one, which may have been where Griffin tore his meniscus, came on a dunk attempt over none other than DeMarcus Cousins, who delivered a pretty hard foul for a scrimmage.

Dirty play?  I’m not sure about that… but Carmelo Anthony recently stated his disapproval of Cousins’ physicality in USA Basketball’s training camp, and Jerry Colangelo wasn’t overly impressed by his antics either.

While Griffin’s latest injury (which will require surgery that will cost him these Olympics) can probably be described as nothing more than an unfortunate turn of events, the fact that Cousins was involved certainly figures to add fuel to the fire, right?

Be sure to mark those Clipps/Kings games on your calendar.
