Games To Watch, Week 14 (3/26-4/1)

Monday, March 26th: Bucks @ Knicks, 7:30 ET, NBALP: To this point, no game has been been bigger for either of these two teams than this one right here.  Milwaukee currently trails New York by 1.5 games, and it looks like the playoffs won’t be big enough for the both of ‘em.  So, someone’s getting a huge win, someone’s suffering a devastating defeat, and no one’s playing any defense!  We can only hope the Bucks will come out on the winning end (well, you may not care, but I said they’d qualify for the postseason, and I’m tired of being wrong).

Tuesday, March 27th: Rockets @ Mavericks, 8:30 ET, NBALP: Will Jason Terry kill the Rockets once again, or will Goran Dragic and the H-Town boys avenge Saturday night’s overtime defeat?  No matter what happens, it’ll have an impact on the bottom half of the Western Conference standings.  I suppose you can say that about most match ups between two western teams, but anyway… tune in.  Should be a good one.

Wednesday, March 28th: Jazz @ Celtics, 7:30 ET, NBALP: The Jazz look pretty damn good again, and I like that.  You may recall that I jumped on Utah’s bandwagon back in January, then hopped off in February, and now I’m re-joining for April.  Yeah, I’m a fair-weather Jazz bandwagoner.  Deal with it.

Thursday, March 29th: Thunder @ Lakers, 10:30 ET, TNT: The obvious choice on this night is the early half of TNT’s double-header, which happens to be a rematch of last June’s NBA Finals.  I’m not rollin’ with that game, though, ’cause Dallas’s struggles have caused the match up to lose a lot of its appeal.  I think Thunder/Lakers is a likely Conference Finals preview, and you can catch Inside the NBA right after the game.  Wait, will Ernie and Charles be back?  If not, you may as well go to sleep.

Friday, March 30th: Celtics @ Timberwolves, 8:00 ET, NBALP: This is supposed to be the game for which Nikola Pekovic makes his triumphant return from that pesky ankle injury!  According to me, that makes it the game of the week.  It’s commonly-known fact that Kevin Garnett dislikes most European people, so I expect a hard-fought battle in the paint to be dominated by the Serbian Steamroller, AKA the Balkan Bulldozer.  That’s right, he’s a steamroller and a bulldozer.

Saturday, March 31st: Cavaliers @ Knicks, 7:30 ET, NBATV: Big-time players tend to do big-time things on big-time stages.  Kyrie Irving is a big-time player, he has a tendency to do big-time things, and Madison Square Garden is a big-time stage.  The Rookie of the Year only had 22 last time he traveled to NYC, but I figure the 17-point loss his Cavaliers suffered will only serve as motivation.  I’m ready for an Irving explosion!

Sunday, April 1st: Wizards @ Raptors, 6:00 ET, NBALP: April Fools!!!  Brian Scalabrine and the Bulls visit Cole Aldrich and the Thunder at 1:00, watch that one.
