Brook Lopez Expected To Sign With Besiktas

According to a variety of sources, Brook Lopez will soon be balling in Turkey alongside Nets teammate Deron Williams.  Obviously, the move will only happen if recent talks to end the lockout fall through.  Meetings will reportedly be taking place tomorrow, so whether or not Lopez leaves should be a sure thing by the end of the weekend.  From Rotoworld

Besiktas has finally found their big man as Nets center Brook Lopez is expected to join teammate Deron Williams in Istanbul.

Of course, with the lockout possibly ending on Friday, Lopez may never make it to Turkey. Then again, the way these lockout negotiations have gone, he could also end up playing a lot of games in Europe. We should know more on Friday night.

Besiktas recently lost their big man, Semih Erden, to a thumb injury.  Although a fair amount of notable NBA players who have made the move overseas have struggled, at first glance this appears to be a big-time upgrade for Besiktas.

Besiktas had pursued other NBA bigs such as Kevin Love and Lamar Odom before coming to an agreement with Lopez.

UPDATE: This agreement either feel apart or never really happened in the first place.  Besiktas will be signing Lamar Odom instead.
