November 3rd, 2011: CBA, Euroleague Recap

CBA

Zhejiang Chouzhou 65, Shandong 62 (Preseason)

JR Smith scored 20 points, including the walk-off triple…

Update: I found a second angle of the shot…

Euroleague

FC Barcelona 93, Unics 65

Former Memphis Grizzly Juan Carlos Navarro scored 19 points in 24 minutes for Barcelona.  The sharpshooter went 3-8 from downtown.  Nathan Jawai proved to be about as useful as he was in the NBA, scoring 7 points on 3-5 in 13 minutes for the losing squad.  I will give him this: he had a pretty nasty poster over a pair of defenders.  Barcelona wore bright pink jerseys in this game–I shit you not.

Fenerbahce Ulker 90, SLUC Nancy 86

Thabo Sefolosha got off to a quick start and scored a team-high 19 for Fenerbahce Ulker.  In doing so, he helped his team go on a 17-0 first-half run and build a rather sizable lead.  SLUC Nancy would make a 23-point comeback in the second half, but it wasn’t enough.  Nicolas Batum had 22 points, but he also had a whopping NINE turnovers.  Jesus Christ Nic, hold onto the goddamn ball!  James Gist gave Sefolosha and company a boost with 13 points and 3 boards (had a pretty sick putback dunk in crunch time).  Former Craptard Roko Ukic had 2 points on 1-4.  Stud.

Maccabi Electra 88, Real Madrid 82

Jordan Farmar dropped a game-high 27 on 9-11 for Maccabi, and Sofoklis “Baby Shaq” Schortsanitis pitched in with 16 of his own.  Madrid has Sergio Rodriguez, Serge Ibaka, and Rudy Fernandez, but none of them did a whole hell of a lot.  Ibaka had 9/8–not bad I suppose–but Rudy and Sergio combined to clunk 7 three-pointers.

Bennet Cantu 78, Bizkaia Bilbao 69

Never heard of a single player who participated in this game.  Next.

Partizan 91, Belgacom Spirou 81

Former 11th overall pick–another bad one by the Hawks–Acie Law dropped 26 big ones for Partizan.  He also dished 7 dimes, some of which probably went to Minnesota Timberwolf Nikola Pekovic, who scored 21 on 9-13.  Remember Jiri Welsch?  He scored 10 points and took an L.

Anadolu Efes 62, Emporio Armani 54

Stanko, yes, Stanko Barac scored a game-high 16 for Anadolu Efes.  The Machine scored 12… on 13 shots.  Former Memphis Grizzly Terrance Kinsey had 13 points, including a big dunk down the stretch.  I still think he’s NBA material.  Danilo Gallinari went 2-10 for 12 points.

Unicaja 79, Brose Baskets 78

Casey Jacobsen sighting!  He notched 7 for the losing squad.  No one of note really did anything for Unicaja.
