Cavaliers Win the Lottery

The Cleveland Cavaliers, who had the second-best chance of snagging the first overall pick, got the luck of the draw, which means–according to everything I’m seeing, hearing, and reading–they’ll welcome some dude named Kyrie Irving to training camp next fall.  What the hell is a Kyrie Irving?  I don’t know jack sh!t about college basketball, but apparently it’s a 6’2 PG from Duke which put up 17/4 last season.  Here’s a video…

…and here’s a little more info via draftexpress.com.

So, congratulations to the Cleveland Cavaliers, who had one of the most dreadful seasons (and offseasons) in the history of the NBA.  I don’t think this Kyrie Irving dude is going to be the next LeBron James, but according to nbadraft.net, he could be the next Chris Paul… or Mike Conley.  Good luck with that, Cleveland!

Here are the complete results…

1. Cleveland (Via LA Clippers)
2. Minnesota Timberwolves
3. Utah Jazz
4. Cleveland Cavaliers
5. Toronto Raptors
6. Washington Wizards
7. Sacramento Kings
8. Detroit Pistons
9.Charlotte Bobcats
10. Milwaukee Bucks
11. Golden State Warriors
12. Utah Jazz

I’m sorry, but could you possibly edit this post to spell “Timberwolves” correctly? It kind of bothers me as I’m a Wolves fan.

Just so you know, that wasn’t my spelling. I copied and pasted that list from some newspaper’s website. Guess I shouldn’t have trusted that a professional writer knows how to spell.
