Shaq Is Selling A Jewelry Collection At Zales

Over the course of his illustrious lifetime, Shaquille O’Neal has worn many more hats than your average professional athlete.  He’s only 40 years old and his retirement from basketball remains a pretty recent development, but one of the greatest players in NBA history has already doubled as a rapper, an actor, a television analyst, a reality star, and a spokesperson for various brands.  How good he’s been at doing all of these things is definitely debatable, but one thing most certainly is not: Shaquille O’Neal fancies himself a fine businessman, and he’s willing to try just about anything if there’s money to be made.  Forbes once called him “a marketing visionary,” and considering his reported net worth of $250 million, who am I to argue?

Pictured above is a sampling of some of Shaq’s new jewelry.  Not his personal jewelry, obviously, but the jewelry he sells at Zales.  You can see more of it Zales.com, where it is available from $50.  It’s made mostly of stainless steel, lacks precious stones, and is generally ugly.  To wear it would probably make most people feel embarrassed, and I can’t help but laugh at the fact that at least one person (possibly the guy in the photo) is definitely going to buy a $1,700 Shaq bracelet, thinking they’re doing it.

As for Shaquille, he knows this sh!t is whack.  He simply recognized an opportunity to become marginally richer.  I’m not really mad at him, but you can be if you want.  Especially if you receive a pair of Shaq earrings for Christmas.  What are you even gonna do, return them?  That would require going out in public with Shaq earrings in your possession.
