Games To Watch, Week 10 (2/28-3/4)

Tuesday, February 28th: Timberwolves @ Clippers, 10:30 ET, NBALP: I would’ve selected this one no matter what, but the pickings are actually pretty slim on this night.  Yes, there are eight other games to choose from, but nearly all of them are a good team against a bad team.  I suppose the Celtics and Cavs are a somewhat-intriguing match up, but you’d be crazy not to go with Chris Paul vs Ricky Rubio!

Wednesday, February 29th: Cavaliers @ Knicks, 7:30 ET, NBALP: Seeing as he won MVP, I suppose you could say Kyrie Irving got the best of Jeremy Lin in the Rising Stars Game, like Chuck said he would.  However, that game was played so casually that I don’t think it counts.  I want to see the two go at it in a real game, and it’s going down at MSG on Wednesday night.

Thursday, March 1st: Heat @ Blazers, 10:30 ET, TNT: The East’s best team on the road in one of the West’s toughest venues.  If you take Miami’s road record and compare it to Portland’s home record these teams are nearly dead even.  For this reason I’m thinking we could see a competitive game.

Friday, March 2nd: Kings @ Lakers, 10:30 ET, NBALP: It’s probably about time I take a look at this Isiah Thomas fella’… not that I’ve never seen him play, but I haven’t watched a full Kings game since he began putting up 20 PPG four games ago.  I figure he’s got a great chance to shine here against Derek “Saloon Doors” Fisher.

Saturday, March 3rd: Timberwolves @ Blazers, 10:00 ET, NBATV: Portland, Denver, Minnesota, and Utah currently occupy the 8th, 9th, 10th, and 11th spots in the West.  Any time two of these four teams meet we should be treated to a battle.  Now that Jamal Crawford is starting at PG for the Blazers we’re looking at a pretty flashy match up at the one.  Of course you’ve got the obvious K-Love vs LaMarcus Aldridge storyline as well.

Sunday, March 4th: Heat @ Lakers, 3:30 ET, ABC: I wish there was such a thing as a Heat/Lakers game televised on a channel other than ABC.  Unfortunately, there isn’t, and we’ll be forced to endure another painful presentation.
