Games To Watch, Week Eight (2/13-2/19)

Monday, February 13th: T-Wolves @ Magic, 7:00 ET, NBATV: As I’m sure you’ve noticed, Nikola Pekovic’s popularity has skyrocketed around here.  It’s gotten to the point where I’m choosing the Wolves over the Clippers on a six-game night with no intriguing match ups.  Make no mistake about it–this is about Nikola Pekovic.  Not the Wolves, not the Magic, not Ricky Rubio, and not Kevin Love.  Nikola Pekovic.  I want to see how this man performs against Dwight Howard.

Tuesday, February 14th: Rockets @ Grizzlies, 8:00 ET, NBALP:

Wednesday, February 15th: Wizards @ Clippers, 10:30 ET, NBALP: If you saw the game last week you know exactly why I’m recommending that you watch this.  For those of you who didn’t catch that game, I’ll explain: It seems that DeAndre Jordan has some sort of personal vendetta against Javale McGee, and it makes him want to destroy the rim.

Thursday, February 16th: Celtics @ Bulls, 8:00 ET, TNT: Hopefully Derrick Rose, Brandon Bass, and… actually, Jermaine O’Neal, you can sit.  I enjoyed watching Chris Wilcox slam dunk his way to 11 points in yesterday afternoon’s match up.  The only things missing were some crazy braids and Kevin Calabro.  I have no affiliation with the City of Seattle nor was I a hardcore supporter of the Supersonics, but still I miss that team.  The Thunder… it’s just not the same.

Friday, February 17th: Nuggets @ Grizzlies, 8:00 ET, NBALP: These two teams are suddenly separated by just two games, battling for position like Nikola Pekovic (just trying to meet the new per-post minimum of 5 Pek references) in the bottom half of the Western Conference playoff picture. The Grizzlies haven’t been nearly as fun to watch as I had envisioned, but this should be a good game.

Saturday, February 18th: Spurs @ Clippers, 3:30 ET, NBALP: Because the only other “good” game is Hawks at Blazers, and that game involves the Hawks on the road so it really isn’t good.  That being said, if your League Pass isn’t carrying the Clipper broadcast you may as well watch a movie on TV or go outside or something.  Spurs broadcasts are two and a half hours of pure f@cking drivel.

Sunday, February 19th: Sixers @ T-Wolves, 7:00 ET, NBALP: Skip the Linsanity, peep the Sixers and the T-Wolves.  Linsanity is actually on ABC at 1:00, so you can watch that too if you like… but the commentators’ heads will probably be so far up Lin’s ass that it will make you hate the guy.  I swear, I watched a couple of National TV games yesterday–none of which involved the Knicks, by the way–and I heard Jeremy Lin’s name no less than 75 times.  It’s gotten more than a little out of control.
