Games To Watch, Week Seven (2/6-2/12)

Monday, February 6th: Lakers @ Sixers, 7:00 ET, NBALP: I’m pretty pissed that this is on at the same time as the Clippers, but at least I’ll be able to watch my other favorite Western Conference team, the Nuggets, as they’ll be hosting the Houston Rockets at 9.  Man, there are a whole bunch of games I’d like to watch tonight… I’ll probably wear out the buttons on my clicker.

Tuesday, February 7th: Jazz @ Pacers, 7:00 ET, NBATV: Will Roy Hibbert be able to use his length to effect Paul Millsap and Al Jefferson, or will he be sitting on the bench with a couple of fouls two minutes into the game?  I’ve been pretty impressed with Hibbert against big dudes like Bynum and Howard, and I’ll be interested in seeing how he fares against some smaller, more crafty frontcourtsmen.

Wednesday, February 8th: Rockets @ Blazers, 10:00 ET, NBATV: I would say T-Wolves @ Grizzlies, but Kevin Love is suspended for “stomping” on Luis Scola’s face.  Floppers gonna flop until you stop rewarding them, NBA.  Anyway, Blazer home games are always a joy to watch.  The Rockets are good enough to make it competitive.

Thursday, February 9th: Lakers @ Celtics, 8:00 ET, TNT: It’s not exactly the match up it’s been over the past four or five years, but it’s still better than the Suns, Kings, or Warriors.  F@ck you, Mark Jackson.

Friday, February 10th: Clippers @ Sixers, 7:00 ET, NBALP: Well damn, two of my favorite teams in the league!  I think the Clippers could really struggle in this game.  Philly doesn’t turn the ball over, and that will limit LA’s opportunities to rack up easy points.  The Clipps will be forced to execute in the half court against a team that’s pretty good on defense.

Saturday, February 11th: Clippers @ Bobcats, 7:00 ET, NBALP: What’s the over/under on Clipper dunks in this game?  Blake and DeAndre probably won’t even play in the fourth quarter, but I expect an aerial assault somethin’ like what we saw against Washington.  That’s worth two hours of your time… trust me.

Sunday, February 12th: Heat @ Hawks, 7:00 ET, ESPN: I never, ever suggest watching the Hawks.  I’m going to do it this time, though, out of appreciation for my main man Ivan Johnson.  Remember what happened last time the Hawks met up with the Heat?  Yeah, that was Johnson’s coming-out party.
