LeBron’s 27th Birthday Was Slammin’

Literally.

Style met substance as he finished just two boards shy of a triple-double (34/8/10) and assisted on Dwyane Wade’s second game-winning basket in three days.  LeBron is having a stellar season thus far, averaging 33 points per game on just under 60% from the floor for the undefeated Heat.

Ricky Rubio brought 12 points, 6 rebounds, and 12 assists to the party, and nearly helped the Timberwolves steal the show.  Fellow crasher Kevin Love brought 25 and 12, and Wayne Ellington was solid with 11 points in his first action this season.  I’ve gotta say, Minnesota really doesn’t deserve to be 0-3.  They’ve played at a much higher level than that record indicates as they’ve fallen just one bucket shy of beating two of the league’s undefeated squads.  Watch out for this team… they’re gonna pull out some upsets this season.

Back to LeBron.  This man appears to have a renewed focus and fierce determination.  He’s on top of his game right now and could be poised to have the best season of his career.  Watch out, NBA.

  1. Nice article. I think maybe Bron’s responding to all the unfair flak he caught last year – although a little bit of it probably was fair; it went way overboard. He donated the money from the Decision to the Boys and Girls Club after all!!

Thank you all for your ctmnemos! Great responses. ?Being from Ohio, I am a little more in the know with the LeBron ?Decision? partly because it dominated air waves, TV news stations, newspapers, magazines, talk shows, and conversations all summer long. Everyone wanted to know what LeBron was going to decide. When it came down to him airing his decision on a one hour special on ESPN, I will admit I was very disappointed. LeBron is a phenomenal athlete, and an even better person. He has a good heart and always supports his hometown. If he wanted to give back to his hometown in an attempt to make up for his decision, he could have done so without the ESPN special. I cannot help but think the decision was ultimately up to his publicity team, but in the end, LeBron had the final say so.We all make mistakes and I would like to think that this is one of LeBron?s. I don?t think his decision was a good act of character, but I don?t think it should be a judgment of his character. Yes, his decision was unethical in the eyes of the public, and I am not making excuses for him, but he was under serious media pressure to make a decision. When I look at the bigger picture, I think it?s a shame our society puts so much emphasis on athletics rather than more important things such as education. The priorities of this nation are more focused on entertainment rather than bettering ourselves.
