Andrew Bynum Goes Down With Right Knee Injury

Not again…

It’s a scene that’s become all too familar to Laker fans… Andrew Bynum steps on a guy’s foot (DeJuan Blair in this case), and crumples to the floor in pain.  It’s being called a hyperextension of the right knee at this point, but we won’t know anything more about the severity of the injury until tomorrow when he will undergo an MRI.  He will not travel with the team to Sacramento for their final contest of the season.

Well, to be perfectly honest, it looked a little ugly to me.  His knee definitely appears to have rolled over a bit… but it’s really tough to tell with something like this.  He could be perfectly fine for the first game of the postseason, or he could be out until next year.  I wouldn’t be surprised either way.  I’ll give you the update tomorrow.  Until then, keep your fingers crossed.  No matter how much you hate the Lakers, this isn’t how you want to see them go down (if Bynum isn’t healthy for the playoffs, they’ll almost certainly be going down).
