Games To Watch, Week 21 (3/14-3/20)

Monday, March 14th: Magic @ Lakers, 10:30 ET, ESPN

I chose this game because, well, come on!  I really wanted to choose Clippers @ Grizzlies at 8:00, though, and my honest suggestion is to watch them both.  The Clippers and Grizzlies have been two of my favorite teams to watch all season long.  My love affair with the Clipps has been well documented, but I haven’t spoken about the Grizzlies much.  They just have a whole lot of interesting players, basically.  Rudy Gay will miss this one, but Tony Allen has filled the void left in both production and entertainment value pretty effectively.  So yeah, treat yourself to a nice Monday-night double-header.

Tuesday, March 15th: Wizards @ Bulls, 8:00 ET, CSW CSCH

The obvious storyline here is Derrick vs John, but I’m thinking of something a little different.  I’m thinking Trevor mo’f@ckin’ Booker…

…dude is a BEAST.  F@ck Blazers/Mavs, I’m sure you’ve seen plenty of those two teams.  Wizards/Bulls is more of an NBA247365.COM type of game… probably not competetive, but likely to make up two thirds of the top 10.

Wednesday, March 16th: Thunder @ Heat, 8:00 ET, ESPN

Can Miami beat a top-eight team not named the Lakers?  Will it be a tear jerker?  Could Russell Westbrook exploit Chalmers and Bibby for a career night?  Any of the above sound entertaining to me.

Thursday, March 17th: Grizzlies @ Knicks, 7:30 ET, MSG

It would be tough to conjure up a pair of sweatier matchups than the other two choices this night has to offer.  Cleveland will pay a visit to Portland where they will face certain death, and Chicago will be in Newark destroying the Nets.  Memphis and New York should actually be a very watchable game (assuming NY can put the ball in the basket… if they’re shooting poorly you might as well find something else to watch).  Melo was forced to hit a game-winner when they met last week.  I’m going to predict that at least 220 total points will be put on the board in this one, including one (or more) individual 30-point night(s).  Guaransheed.

Friday, March 18th: Nuggets @ Magic, 7:00 ET, ALT SUN

That all-time NBA record for threes launched that the Magic and Warriors set just a few nights ago could be in danger.

Saturday, March 19th: Nuggets @ Heat, 7:30 ET, NBATV

Rolling with the Nuggs two nights in a row.  Their new-look squad is a pleasure to watch.  They continue to lead the league in scoring, and they do an excellent job of sharing the rock.  They are essentially the antithesis of the opposing Heat: tons of depth, no superstar.

Sunday, March 20th: Suns @ Clippers, 3:30 ET, MY45 FSPT
