POTD 1/1/13: Amare Stoudemire on Victor Claver

As I pointed out in today’s Starting Lineup post, Amare Stoudemire’s return to the floor could’ve gone better.  That said, it could’ve gone worse, too.  While it would’ve been completely unreasonable to expect a player to sit out 30 consecutive games and come back to dominate, it wouldn’t have been unreasonable to presume STAT would need more than a game or two to regain his sea legs.  As prolific an athlete as Amare is, I can’t honestly say I expected him to take POTD honors on his first night back.

Like riding a bike… with training wheels.  Victor Claver didn’t stand a chance.  Welcome back, Amare!
