For a wing player, Gordon Hayward is a pretty good shot blocker. He averages a half swat per game for his career, which may not seem like much, but how many shooting guards send somebody packing once every other game? In Saturday’s loss to the Rockets Hayward came up with his 12th denial of the young season, but his 13th would not come at the expense of #13…
Admirable hustle from Hayward, who obviously arrived a tad late, but better (and noisier!) slam by James Harden. The way he cocked it to the left gave Hayward sufficient time to get all the way in his poster, making it that much nastier.
Honorable mention to Tim Duncan, who nearly nabbed his third POTD. Did you hear his primal roar? That’s a lot of emotion to get out of ol’ Timmy. I wonder if substantial sanctions got him all gassed up? Whatever the case may be, I enjoyed that!
