Dwight Howard Gets Dunked On Again, By Jason Thompson This Time

Dwight Howard, about to begin playing his 9th NBA season, has blocked more than a few shots in his day (1,344 of them, to be specific).  Yet, remarkably, he’s been dunked on just a handful of times.  Off the top of my head, as of five days ago, only Kobe Bryant, Lamar Odom, Al Thornton, and Chris Paul (yes, Chris Paul) could claim to have flushed over the three-time DPOY.  Interestingly, this short list has become 33% longer since Dwight’s first game with the Lakers.  I’m sure you recall what happened last Sunday, when Thomas Robinson turned heads with this incredible one-handed putback. Now, you can also throw Jason Thompson’s name into the mix…

A mere two preseason games in, Dwight Howard has already been posterized more times than Shaq was during his entire tenure with the Lakers (and probably his entire career, for that matter).  Of course, Shaq would simply deliver a vicious flagrant foul to anyone who dared try and dunk on him… but still, this is more than a little surprising.  Dwight Howard isn’t exactly Shawn Bradley, Yao Ming, or even Chris Kaman when it comes to being dunked on.
