Tony Allen Makes A Pass Fake Straight From An AND1 Mixtape

When I was younger–about 15 years old, maybe–I was the number-one fan of the AND1 Mixtape Tour.  I had all the DVDs, I never missed an episode of “Streetball” on Tuesday nights, and I wore my 2 Chis at all times.  I went to Boston and Providence to see the show in person, and I’ll never forget the time I saw Air Up There (freakiest leaper you will ever see in your life) pull a 360 between-the-legs dunk in cargo shorts and loosely-laced Air Forces.

Eventually, as I matured, I became more appreciative of the NBA’s structure.  An incredible highlight is really only as good as the defense it’s created against, and those Mixtape games would get pretty slack.  The love of all things style over substance is still ingrained in me, though.  I can’t help but get excited when a dude brings a little bit of the asphalt to the hardwood, which is exactly what Tony Allen did against the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Can’t say I’ve ever seen that one in a professional game before.  I guess it’s obvious why not–the fake didn’t really accomplish anything–but who the f@ck cares… that was awesome.  Gotta love Tony Allen!

So you’re positive it’s an intentional fake? I’m only 50% convinced.

I wasn’t convinced at first, but looking at the replay I’m almost 100% sure he did that on purpose.
