Saturday Afternoon Links, Featuring Keyon Dooling

Youtube: Keyon Dooling’s ’11/12 highlight reel is this play on repeat.  That’s a pretty remarkable finger roll.  Notice that it actually reached its peak above the top of the backboard before splashing through the net.  It’s a good thing it got that high, too, because Josh Smith was on the prowl.

Pro Basketball Talk: From NBA titles to divisional championships, if it can be won Kobe Bryant wants to win it.  You know how they’ve got that NBA Cares program?  Yeah, well, I hope they never place Kobe in any sort of competitive setting with the kids.  That would probably turn out something like Dave Chappelle’s “Make A Wish” skit.

Youtube: Manu Ginobili highlighted San Antonio’s 24-point trouncing of the Lakers with this speeding bullet of a pass to Matt Bonner.  Bonner will miss the remainder of the regular season with a pair of shattered hands.

Grantland: Gerald Green is very happy to be wearing NBA socks again.  You really should be sure to click this one… it’s an excellent overview of Gerald’s interesting journey, from Houston Texas to Siberia and back.

LA Times: With Dwight Howard out due to back surgery, team USA is in need of a new center.  It won’t be Andrew Bynum.  He’s heading overseas this summer to undergo the same knee procedure that Kobe Bryant went through last offseason.

Hoops World: While I’m on the subject of Andrew Bynum, Kareem thinks Drew would be wise to “calm down his ego a little bit.” The way things are looking, a playoff match up against Tim Duncan and the Spurs may leave him with no choice.

Grantland: Many of those involved in the “Malice at the Palace” discuss the ugliest on-court incident in recent NBA history.  This article is a few months old, but it was new to me.  If it’s new to you then I highly recommend it.

ESPN: A look at Chris Paul’s impact on the Los Angeles Clippers.  I’ve been pondering my MVPs, All-NBA Teams, and Most Improved Players quite a bit lately, and I think CP3 might be my MVP.  We’ll see how the season finishes up and get back to this in a few days.

Twitter: Paul George dares you to challenge him at Michael Jackson: The Experience.

Complex: The Clippers are trying to grow playoff beards, but a couple of the young bucks are having a bit of trouble.  I can totally relate to that.
