POTD 3/22/12: Nick Young on Jason Smith

The Clippers, to me, are the disappointment of the season, bar none.  Back in December I think we all expected a team that both won and entertained… comparable to the run-and-gun Suns of five or so years ago, maybe.  The team we’ve actually seen has been more frustrating than fun, and only marginally successful.  That being said, they still have their moments…

…they’re too talented not to.  I think that’s a big part of what makes them so frustrating–they’ve got this excess of athleticism, but they rarely take advantage of it.  Even the sequence above just came together randomly.  Anyway, that dunk by Nick Young is your winner.  I figure some of you will feel like DeAndre should’ve won because he threw it down hard, but Kaveman was hardly in the picture.  Nick Young took off from the outer part of the paint and put that f@cking thing down ALL OVER Jason Smith.  Had he really hammered it, or at least touched the rim… I think the dunk is a borderline 10.

This is Nick Young’s third POTD of the season, but the way.  That ties him with Blake Griffin for first place.

Dunk rating on the Starbury Nastiness Scale:

8.5/10 Starbury Nasty Faces
