Unless you happen to be the number-one fan of John Lucas III or the Toronto Raptors, you probably didn’t elect to watch Chicago play Toronto on Wednesday night. There were two different games on national TV, seven others on league pass, and Derrick Rose didn’t even suit up. According to most, that’s simply not quite the match up that New York at Philly, or… basically any other NBA game is.
Still, the Raptors felt it was necessary to make damn sure they’d go incognito on this particular evening. Pitted against the best team in the East–a Bulls squad that has rolled even without the help of the reigning MVP–they faced certain defeat and likely embarrassment. So, they simply busted out their camo unis! A brilliant move, really. I mean, what better way is there for a team to blend into the NBA landscape than to sport some camouflage jerseys? Surely no one will notice a 94-82 loss to John Lucas and friends with the help of this disguise…
…as long as Amir Johnson doesn’t wear his Nike Air Highlighters. Goddammit, Amir, now that NBA247 kid is gonna go call us the Craptors again!
Yes, yes I am. Amir’s shoes looked even more florescent on TV. The picture doesn’t do them justice at all–the damn things stuck out like a sore, glowing thumb. Somehow, he was able to play 25 minutes and 18 seconds before Dwayne Casey realized he was foiling the team’s plan, at which point he was sent to the end of the bench.

In all seriousness, these brightly-colored shoes are hard on the eyes. Kemba Walker wore some green ones for St. Patty’s Day that damn near forced me to resort to my Oakleys. Matching the kicks to the uni is a timeless trend, NBAers. Please take note.
