NBA Appreciation Day: Michael Finley Mix

Happy Friday, and happy NBA Appreciation Day, everybody!  Today I present to you a mix by Yinka Dare, a legend to all those who watched mixes before Youtube… back when you had to download them, probably quite slowly, and hope the wait would be worth your time.  To this day Yinka Dare is responsible for some of the finest NBA-related videos to be found on the internet (his Keon Clark mix is short, but one of my personal favorites).  There’s not much to ‘em–just quality highlights and a suitable song–but that’s the way it should be.  Too often nowadays you’ll click a five-minute mix and see about 30 seconds of basketball.  Anyway, that’s another story.  The following is Yinka’s take on Michael Finley, which I hadn’t seen until yesterday.  Check it out…

Aside from the use of my favorite song, the best thing about this video is the last minute and a half.  Did you see Finley drop those right-handed hammers on Olden Polynice (twice), Dikembe Mutombo, David Robinson, Michael Olowokandi, Yao Ming, Mark Madsen, and Karl Malone?  How awesome was that?  I thought it was awesome enough to warrant breaking out my Michael Finley jersey, which I wore for the remainder of the evening.
