Nuggets Run Kings Off Floor, Fernandez & Faried Show Out

Oh boy, the Kings are in town!  I figure something along those lines must’ve crossed each Nugget’s mind prior to this evening’s game, because a visit from Sacramento has been synonymous with showtime lately.

Coming into tonight’s contest, the Queens ranked 29th in the league in points allowed… and that’s just the tip of the iceberg.  These guys had surrendered a whopping ONE-HUNDRED-TWENTY-SIX points in the paint over their last two games alone.  They bring up the rear in that category, and they’re 28th in fast-break points allowed.  Offensively, only two teams shoot a worse percentage from the floor, and no team gives up more rebounds.  They’re last in the league in turnovers, which is actually a bad thing as it indicates how little they pass the ball.  Predictably, they place dead last in assist to turnover ratio.

To sum that all up, the Kings are a mess on offense and a sieve on defense.  On Wednesday night they were crushed again, giving up 110 points to the high-scoring Nuggets, who out-fast-breaked them 31-9.  Rudy Fernandez recognized Sacramento’s futility in the early going and decided to add a few clips to his career highlight reel.  In the process he helped Kenneth Faried score his first NBA points in high-flying fashion…

League Pass junkies take note: Denver and Sacramento play again in exactly three weeks.
