Remember Gerald Wallace’s preseason destruction of Boki Nachbar that took place, oh, maybe about eight or nine years ago? Or course you do! It’s one of the most memorable preseason dunks to date. When I was in grade school I had this issue of SLAM Magazine, and it featured that dunk. The writer of the blurb suggested that the NBA should appoint a few players to a welcome committee in order to help rookies make the transition to the league, and that Gerald Wallace should be a member. If I had been in charge of selecting a welcome committee for this preseason, Javale McGee would’ve received heavy consideration.
