Sonny Weems Drops 18, Makes Game-Winning Dunk (Euroleague)

My main man Sonny Weems came up HUGE for Zalgiris Kaunas in his latest Euroleague contest by not only scoring a game-high 18 points, but also driving to the rack for the game-winning two hander!  Check out the video below…

A game winner scored with 52 seconds to go, but a game winner nonetheless as Zalgiris held on to take it 67-65.  Sonny’s 18 points came on 8-16 shooting, and he also threw in 11 boards for good measure.  Zalgiris led for most of this game and choked the eight-point advantage they held entering the fourth, but hey, they’ve been pretty bad, so I’ll just give ‘em props for the W.

Sonny actually scored both the first and last baskets of this game.  Both were dunks.  That’s why he’s my main man (insert pimp emoticon).

I’ve decided that I’m not going to do full Euroleague recaps anymore.  I’m not very knowledgable about Euorpean ball, and my goal was basically to report notable performances by NBA players.  Now that most NBA players have left, I don’t really have much to offer.  It’s nothing against the Euroleague, it’s just that I just wasn’t doing anything but posting NBA players’ statistics.  I’d continue to do the full recaps if I had more insight to offer.  What I will do is continue to make posts like this one if a guy like Weems does something interesting.

The Euroleague has an excellent website; check it out for more stats and information.
