‘Pawn Stars’ Wants To Hire An NBA Player. I Have Suggestions.

Could my favorite sport be fusing with one of my favorite television shows?  According to TMZ (via @Insidehoops on Twitter), Gold & Silver Pawn Shop owner Rick Harrison is dying to make it happen.

The guys from “Pawn Stars” have a job opening at their famous Vegas shop … and they’re looking to hire someone who really needs the cash right now … someone who’s out of work  … someone who can hit a turn around jumper from 25 feet away.

TMZ has learned …”Pawn Stars” honcho Rick Harrison is adamant that he wants to help a struggling, talented, out-of-work NBA player earn a paycheck during the never-ending lockout.

We’re told the job would require the baller to work the counter just like everyone else in the shop. As for salary — we’re told Rick will work out the details depending on who applies for the gig.

Chum Lee — who also stars on the show — tells TMZ he’s hoping Rick can pull in a Lakers player … especially Metta World Peace … but relents, “If there aren’t any players who take us up on the offer, I’m hoping some cheerleaders come down for the job!”

For those of you who may be unfamiliar with “Pawn Stars,” it’s a relatively new TV show on the History Channel.  What it’s about is pretty self explanatory.  The store buys and sells a lot of interesting items to and from lots of interesting people, which makes it quite a bit of fun to watch, and you can even learn a little somethin’ about history in the process.  I highly recommend it.  Anyway, who do you all think they should hire?  They want Ron Artest, but I’ve got a few other suggestions…

Antoine Walker
Position: Door Man/Greeter
Why: Everyone else at the shop is a little hefty, so Fatoine would fit right in with their image.  Instruct him to kindly greet the customers as he holds the following pose…

Toine would probably be one of the easiest players for them to track down, too.  I bet he’s already in Vegas gambling away his final D-League paycheck (the Idaho Stampede waived him today).

Delonte West
Position: Gun Salesman
Why: He’s got a sh!tload of charisma to go along with expertise in the field of firearms.  They sell a ton of guns on the show already, and Delonte would do nothing but help them sell more.  This is a no-brainer.

Eddy Curry
Position: Security
Why: Finally, I’ve found the perfect job for Eddy–a job where no one will give a flying f@ck if he’s 100 pounds overweight!  Also, no guaranteed contracts at a 9-5.  He’ll have to show up if he wants to get paid.

As far as I know, all three of those guys are out of work.  Well, maybe not… I read something about Delonte working at Home Depot a while back, but even if he’s still there I’m sure Gold & Silver would offer him a better paycheck.  Make it happen Mr. Harrison!

I’m definitely curious as to who my readers think would make a good employee at the pawn shop.  Leave a comment to let me know!
