Kevin Durant Adds More Ink

By now I’m sure most of you have come to know that KD’s into getting inked… just not in places where it would be exposed when he suits up in his Thunder blue.  This photo…

…showing KD’s assortment of disorganized stomach and chest pieces appeared a few months back, and then today I came across a photo of his brand new back piece.  Behold…

My first thought: KD’s front half reps DC, and his back half reps Maryland.  I know they’re kinda one and the same, but still… odd.

My next thought: The hands are throwing up his jersey number, 35.  Clever.  Looks like a gang sign on first glance though.

My final thought: At least he had a plan this time.  It’s not hard to tell that the front half of his torso was pieced together one tattoo at a time.  He’s got that Lil Wayne look–minus the arms, legs, and face.

It’s not the coolest tattoo I’ve ever seen, but certainly not Richard-Jefferson-level bad either.  The artwork looks pretty average, which baffles me.  One would think a guy with NBA money could have paid the Renoir of tattoo artists to create a masterpiece on his skin.  Go see Mr. Cartoon or something.  KD needs to stop it with the whole no ink on the limbs thing too.  To have the entire torso covered and then nothing on the arms… it just looks goofy.  I suppose he’s worried about his marketability, but why?  LeBron James is inked from head to toe.  It hasn’t made him any less marketable.

You know what would’ve been cool?  If KD got an actual-size tattoo of his backpack.  Straps on his chest, pack on his back.  Oh man, that would’ve been ill!
