I have been anything but impressed with the Knicks lately, but the same can be said for the Celtics. Hopefully it will end something like last time…
Tuesday, March 22nd: Suns @ Lakers, 10:30 ET, TNT
A rematch of my second-favorite first round series of all-time… except without almost all of the players that made it my second-favorite first round series of all-time. Oh well, it could still be a good one. Phoenix has the capability to compete with anyone on a given night due to their offensive firepower. Maybe they can get hot and hand LA what would be just their second loss since the All-Star break.
Wednesday, March 23rd: Spurs @ Nuggets, 10:30 ET, ESPN
The new-look Nuggets have struggled offensively in their last two games… so I’m going to say that they’re due. These are the league’s first and sixth highest-scoring teams, so if nothing else they should produce some excitement in the form of buckets.
Thursday, March 24th: Timberwolves @ Mavericks, 8:00, FSNO FSSW
Why in the world would I ever choose this game? Well, because Hornets @ Jazz, while somewhat meaningful, strikes me as about as exciting a proposition as watching highschool JV field hockey. This is one of those nights where it’s probably a good idea to make non-NBA-related plans. My advice: watch a low-budget horror film. They make the best comedies.
Friday, March 25th: Grizzlies @ Bulls, 8:00 ET, CSCH
I didn’t even finish going over the schedule after I saw this one. It’s screaming “watch me!” May the basketball gods grant us with not only a good game, but also a Tony Allen postgame interview.
Saturday, March 26th: Raptors @ Clippers, 10:30 ET, SNET FSPT
Sunday, March 27th: Spurs @ Grizzlies, 6:00 ET, FSSW
There’s a pretty solid selection on this particular day, but I’m just down with the Grizzlies right now. I’ve never been accused of being the world’s biggest Spurs fan either, so I’ll have a nice rooting interest to make it more fun. So that’s why I’m going to watch it… as for why you should do so too, well, I don’t know… because I said so? I’ve got a blog, so you can trust that I know my stuff. [/sarcasm]
