Monday, February 28th: Hawks @ Nuggets, 9:00 ET, SS ALT
I actually enjoy watching the Nuggets now more than I did with Carmelo on the team. I loved the Melo era Nuggets, they were one of my favorite teams ever, but his not wanting to be there any longer drained all the air from that balloon. They aren’t capable of the Western Conference Finals anymore, but at least they’ll be fun to watch and distraction free.
Tuesday, March 1st: Knicks @ Magic, 7:00 ET, NBATV
An NBA record for three-point attempts could very well be set on this night. If Orlando doesn’t pound the ball into the paint all game long against New York’s undersized bigs… I swear to the basketball gods I’ll scream at the TV, record it on video, and upload it here as part of my daily recap post.
Wednesday, March 2nd: Rockets @ Clippers, 10:30 ET, NBATV
Thursday, March 3rd: Magic @ Heat, 8:00 ET, TNT
Same deal as with the ORL/NYK game. If Orlando fires threes all night and refuses to give Dwight the ball against Ericka Dampier and Joel Anthony, I’ll probably have a meltdown.
Friday, March 4th: Cavaliers @ Knicks, 7:30 ET, FSOH MSG
Laugh at this selection all you want, but recent history suggests that this will be a great game… and the Knicks will lose.
Saturday, March 5th: Nuggets @ Clippers, 10:30 ET, ALT2, FSPT
Sunday, March 6th: Lakers @ Spurs, 3:30 ET, ABC
The only thing I don’t love about this game is the fact that it’s on ABC. Man, do they do their best to ruin NBA basketball. Anyway, Tony Parker will almost certainly abuse Derek Fisher, which will put a big smile on my face. I don’t really like either of these teams, but I despise Derek Fisher enough to adopt a temporary rooting interest in pretty much anyone.
EDIT: I just read that Tony Parker is out 2-4 weeks. Watch Bulls @ Heat at 1:00 instead.
